Angry in the Great White North

The deadline fast approaches.  If there is no agreement on controls on carbon dioxide emissions (presumably through a massive transfer of wealth that somehow neutralizes carbon dioxide molecules) in the next 12 days at Copenhagen, we're doomed!

Keith Allott, head of climate change at WWF-UK said: 'Copenhagen is the right time and the best opportunity for the world to agree on a climate deal which could save our planet from catastrophic climate change.

'Another opportunity like this may not come along. Going into this conference, there is not enough ambition on the table. The commitments made so far will not keep the world under 2C of warming, which is the threshold of unacceptable risks of runaway catastrophic climate change.

'This has to change over the next 12 days. Leaders must find the way to live up to the expectations of millions of people.'

And if the leaders fail?  If 12 days comes and goes, and the world's leaders do not come up with a level of commitment that alarmists insist is required to save the planet?

Will the alarmists simply admit defeat and shut up already?!

How many times have these "deadlines" come and gone already?  Each time, it's the same thing.  An agreement must be reached.  Thresholds must be met.   Fundamental changes must be achieved.

Or else!  This is our last chance!

And the agreements are ignored.  The thresholds are breached and more.  The changes never happen.

And yet, there is another "last chance" around the corner, and the alarmist rhetoric kicks in again, with the dates and places changed.  Damn, I wish they would run out of "last chances" and go away already.
