Tamil protests in England getting hotter

I've noted that there are those who seem to be involved in the Tamil protests in Canada who have also cheered gruesome suicides by Tamil protestors in other countries.  In these cases, young Tamils have doused themselves in gasoline and then torched themselves.

The Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka are facing elimination by the Sri Lankan military.  Canadian protestors who have never been shy in shouting support for the Tigers, designated a terrorist group in Canada and in many other nations, have been growing in number even as the postage-stamp-sized parcel of land under Tiger control shrinks to a vanishing point.

Ottawa has been a key site of protests:

It seems that the Tigers are prodding their supporters to mount even larger protests as a last ditch effort to stave off defeat, hoping that foreign powers will lean on the Sri Lankan government to stop the attack and so allow the Tamil Tigers to recover (and so live to fight another day).

In England, Tamil protests are starting to take a desperate turn:

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown's office says he'll meet lawmakers to discuss the conflict and the demonstrations. The pro-Tamil protests have included hunger strikes and several incidents in which demonstrators have attempted to set themselves on fire.

We've had hunger strikers here in Canada.  So far, no one has reported on anything more frightening.  I'm not convinced, though, that it won't happen.

There are people who seem to think it would be a good idea.  And not just Tigers back in Sri Lanka.
