And yours truly was the recipient of a pleasant surprise, taking the top spot of the Blog Buzz Top 5 for Week 1:

And the competition was tough. Jason Cherniak takes second place with his piece on the role of editorial comment in the news. The next two spots go to pros Kady O'Malley and Paul Wells of Maclean's. Rounding out the top five in Richard Jago's piece on John Shavluk -- perhaps the most important post this week, since Jago's work resulted in an alleged anti-Semite being stopped in his tracks before having a chance to further pollute our political process.
