Apparently global warming can be defeated by complaining loudly enough

It seems that if you don't like Stephane Dion's carbon tax, all you need to do is get MPs to complain loudly enough:

The federal Liberals say they’re planning new measures for their so-called green shift plan as they head into an expected election campaign.

On a visit to Regina, Liberal Leader Stephane Dion said he will announce additional measures Wednesday aimed at making the plan “even stronger for rural Canada.”

Dion was tight-lipped about details, but suggested the measures would address issues that have been raised by Canadians during the summer.

Some Liberal MPs have suggested Dion massage the plan to make it more palatable to farmers, truckers and rural residents who stand to be hardest hit by the proposed tax on fossil fuels.

This group has yet to be appeased by the promise of offsetting income tax cuts and tax benefits.

The additional details are being discussed as Liberal MPs and senators meet in Winnipeg this week for a caucus retreat where they’ll focus on election preparation and strategy.

Even stronger for rural Canadians?  What does that mean?

Common sense suggests that a strong carbon tax is one that aggressively moves to accomplishing the goal of throttling back on greenhouse gas emissions.

For instance, the Green Party plan to immediately apply a tax of $50 per tonne of carbon dioxide emission to all fuel sources is what I would call a strong carbon tax.

And yet, I don't think that's what means by a strong .

I wait with anxious anticipation to read what Stephane Dion thinks constitutes a strong carbon tax.  Who knows?  Maybe we'll all want a strong carbon tax.
