Garry Oledzki was the Liberal Party candidate for Palliser in Saskatchewan. Until yesterday, when he quit.
The report of his resignation was, well, cold.
Frigid even.
Here is the statement from Liberal Party president Doug Ferguson regarding the resignation of Garry Oledzki as candidate for the riding of Palliser in Saskatchewan:
Earlier today, I accepted the resignation of the Liberal candidate in Palliser, Mr. Garry Oledzki.
Mr. Oledzki is stepping down for personal and professional reasons. He believes that this course of action is in the best interest of the Party, and my fellow Liberals and I accept his decision.
In the weeks ahead, we will move toward selecting a new candidate in Palliser. The Liberal Party has the best leader, the best team, and the best plan for the future. We look forward to working with the residents of Palliser to help build a richer, fairer and greener Canada.
OK, now to the weird stuff:
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but it sounds like either Garry Oledzki did something bad, or maybe his resignation was not a pleasant affair, and that Oledzki was unwilling to provide any soundbites or quotes in support of Stephane Dion and the Liberal Party.
