Stephane Dion: Man of the (Green) People

A trusted source in Ottawa has flipped me some details about the planned launch of Liberal Party leader Stephane Dion's carbon tax.

Apparently it will be a "man of the people" video.

From a trusted source in Ottawa, some details about tomorrow's Liberal Party launch of Stephane Dion's :

The will make a concerted effort tomorrow to present Stephane Dion as just another ordinary tax-paying Canadian at the launch of the party’s Green Shift policy.

Here’s what we know:

  • The Liberals are presently setting up Room 232 of Parliament Hill’s Centre Block for their announcement.
  • The room is set up in theatre-style seating format.
  • There are three big video screens at the front of the room.
  • The Liberals are running footage of Dion looking like an ordinary guy mixed with Canadiana (e.g. kids playing hockey).
  • Liberal staff are standing around talking on their mobile phones and certainly not providing security.

It appears the Liberals will start their Green Shift announcement with some sort of video presentation.

It also appears they are going to try and acquire some Obama-like side shots to make Dion look more like a man of the people.

I wonder if there will be video of Stephane Dion eating hot dogs with a knife and fork.  Not likely.  It looks like the Liberal Party spared no expense in making look like a normal guy who just happens to want to tax everything in sight.

[Now who would have leaked this?  I wonder...]
