Garth Turner, the Future NDP Member for Halton

Chris Selley, aka Megapundit, who blogs for Maclean's, has the best line I've seen today.  Not only is it funny, it's prescient.

Is Garth Turner going to be a much longer?

From Megapundit:

, a.k.a. the future NDP member for Halton, tells the Vancouver Sun's Barbara Yaffe he's "in a bit of trouble right now" with his caucus colleagues for being so goddamn steadfast in his support of , and so goddamn outspoken in his disapproval of ambitious types like and . In this case, Turner's penchant for team-play manifests itself in helpful statements such as, "Dion is reaching the point where he's going to lose more altitude if he doesn't take the bait."

The future NDP member for Halton.  *snort* *giggle* *heh*

I thought that was really funny.  It is also very clever, because in one line Chris communicates the same thing I did in an entire post, and that is that Garth Turner's comments to Barbara Yaffe constitute a firing offense.  Is Chris making a prediction as well as a joke?  I think so.

Summer is fast approaching, and most political parties prefer for bad news to be delivered in the summer when parliament isn't sitting and most Canadians are enjoying themselves.  Removing a troublesome MP might be the sort of thing best done in the political off-season.
