When word of this report started going about, people looked in vain for the video.  Look no further -- here is the actual report as broadcast on May 16 on Mike Duffy Live:

What can we learn from this?

  • Liberal caucus confidentiality is still lacking.  Not only do we hear about arguments over Stephane Dion's carbon tax, we hear about missteps by MPs.
  • Garth Turner might be upset with Jane Taber (the label "weasel" was used) but really, this isn't Jane Taber's fault.  Other people were there, and they seemed all too happy not just to describe Garth Turner's presentation, but Stephane Dion's reaction as well.
  • Did it happen the way Jane Taber described?  Perception is what matters.  Someone in the Liberal caucus doesn't care how people perceive Garth Turner.  Or worse, this person wants to make certain the perception is not too flattering.
  • Real life is not a blog.  Real life is not a blog.  One more time.  Real life is not a blog.  While you think you might get away with all manner of insults in a blog, recall that your readers are there by choice and probably know what to expect.  Heck, they're probably looking forward to the fireworks.  When giving a presentation to caucus, though, remember that the people are there because they had to be there.  They aren't your fans.  They don't automatically think you're witty.  And some might just not like you very much, and they aren't going to leave a nasty comment you can just delete.  They're going to talk to Jane Taber.
