Is David Suzuki going to fill the jails with the victims of his environmental jihad?

David Suzuki has definitely jumped the shark.  The environmental crusader has morphed into a fatwa-issuing green mullah.  Now it seems that if you don't listen to him, you should go to jail.

seems to become more unhinged as the days go by.  Now it seems that politicians who listen to their own constituents instead of to David Suzuki ought to be jailed:

He urged today’s youth to speak out against politicians complicit in climate change, even suggesting they look for a legal way to throw our current political leaders in jail for ignoring science – drawing rounds of cheering and applause. Suzuki said that politicians, who never see beyond the next election, are committing a criminal act by ignoring science.

One might be forgiven to ask which science is being ignored.  David Suzuki's science that demands that Canadians stop owning their own cars, live in tiny apartments in large communal blocks, and carefully control the size of their families?

Or the science described by other scientists who say that global warming is a cyclical phenomenon unrelated to human activity?

We could compare the evidence, weigh the risks and rewards, balance the pros and cons, and decide what seems right, since scientists seem torn over the issue.  Then a population split over the issue would vote, and we would end up with elected politicians on both sides.

Or we could do as David Suzuki says, and jail those who don't agree with him.  Now he says that politicians should suffer the punishment.  Nonsense.  They are just doing what we told them to do.  We voted them into power, and so it's our responsibility.

Instead of putting those whom David Suzuki deems to be ignorant of science in jail, he should go after the voters.  If it weren't for those who voted for skeptical politicians, David Suzuki would have his green paradise.  Clearly the voters are given far too much latitude.

So I call on David Suzuki to grow a pair and demand real action.  Democracy is the problem here.  Science is truth, and truth cannot be change because of popular vote.  A Council of Guardians could be appointed by David Suzuki, separate from parliament, and answerable only to David Suzuki or his chosen successor.  All acts of parliament must be reviewed by this Council to make certain it is compatible with their science.  If not, the act is returned for review and revision.

To limit the number of bad bills being rejected, nominees for public office must be vetted first by this Council to ensure that the voting public is not accidentally offered the chance to vote for someone who holds the wrong scientific views.

Now that voters have only the correct choices in front of them (Smith who thinks global warming is a serious problem that requires immediate and dramatic action, or Jones who thinks global warming is a serious problem that requires immediate and dramatic action), we will have a correctly constructed parliament representing what people really want, or what they ought to want, even if they don't realize it.

Yes, I know this sounds a lot like Iran, with environmentalism taking the place of sharia law, but trust me when I say that these two situations are completely different.  And if you don't agree with me, David Suzuki might put you in jail for that too.
