News Post India: Canadian Leader Warns of NATO Action in Pakistan

Even as the Liberal Party tries to explain that when Stephane Dion spoke of the "option" of "NATO forces" in Pakistan really meant the same diplomacy that has been in constant use for years, the obvious meaning of Dion's words continue to make news.

News Post India, based in New Delhi, India, is carrying the story.

I guess that means sending Liberal bigwigs to the subcontinent to explain to these people the subtle shades of meaning that add excitement to any attempt to understand Stephane Dion.

leader continues to embarrass Canada internationally, and he's just the leader of the opposition.

The issue, of course, is Dion's plan to invade with forces.

The News Post India, based in New Dehli, is carrying the story under the title "Canadian Leader Warns of NATO Action in Pakistan".

Strange that the News Post India so grossly misinterpreted Stephane Dion's comments about the "option" of "NATO forces" in Pakistan.  It's not like Peter Kent works there.

Hey, could it be that Stephane Dion really said what it sounded like he said?

In any case, the News Post India is not reporting any of the nonsense that we've been hearing from the Liberal Party that Stephane Dion meant the "option" of "NATO forces" of diplomacy:

After US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton hinting at the possibility of American forces pursuing terrorists inside Pakistan if she is elected, Canadian opposition leader Stephane Dion has also called for 'intervention' in Pakistan if the war on terror were to succeed.

Hinting at NATO action inside Pakistan, Dion, who is the leader of the Liberal Party which is eyeing power in the next elections likely this year, said Wednesday that the NATO-led mission against the Taliban in Afghanistan would not succeed unless terrorists were denied entry from Pakistan.

Dion, who has just returned after a two-day Afghanistan visit to take stock of the Canadian combat mission around Kandahar, said NATO could be forced to take action inside Pakistan if the Musharraf government failed to stop entry of terrorists into Afghanistan.

'We are going to have to discuss that very actively if they are not able to deal with it on their own. We could consider that option with the NATO forces in order to help Pakistan help us pacify Afghanistan,' Dion said.

You know how Liberals like to repeat, ad nauseam, that Stephen Harper and the Conservatives are making Canada out to look like a slimmed-down version of the United States?

People overseas will be thinking, Yeah, Canada is like the United States, planning to invade everyone, because of that Stephane Dion guy and his war-mongering Liberals.

Do you think this will be reason enough for the Liberals to dump Stephane Dion?
