Angry in the Great White North

Proudly holding on to fourth place in the voting, I was satisfied that Angry in the Great White North had done itself proud in the 2007 Weblog Awards.

Then I noticed hits coming from small dead animals:

At the moment, The Daily Smut is running a somewhat competitive second, jeopardizing this year's goal of topping SDA's 2006 record of taking 53.8% of votes cast.

This must not happen.

If we must throw Kathy Shaidle into the ditch to crack the 50% barrier, so be it. She was happy just to be nominated.

I, on the other hand, find no satisfaction until I have the leftosphere writhing in outrage and defeat.

Polls close November 8. It's time to focus on the task at hand, jettison the wounded ("I'll never forget you, Angry"), and close for the kill.

Wounded? Wounded?!

Hey, I'm not hallucinating here. It is clear that Kate at SDA is coasting into another win on the strength of tired old links from Instapundit and a few other major American blogs. There is little chance of stopping an SDA win. But for Kate to suggest that we should vote for her to prevent a left-wing blog from winning? Strategic voting? Is that the way we pick the best of the best?

Not in my book. Strategic voting is a lefty thing. Sure SDA used to be a good blog, but some of us bloggers aren't able to post gag pictures of election signs and get 5,000 hits. We have to work at getting visitors by writing compelling articles and doing real research, establishing the kind of credibility that translates into real scoops.

Wounded? Hardly.

So go to the voting page and click on Angry in the Great White North. Then do it again tomorrow and the day after (a new vote is allowed every 24 hours). Every person who votes for me gets a coupon* for a free dinner for two at a five star restaurant.

* Coupons will not be honoured. In fact, they won't sent out, or even printed for that matter. Heck, I'd be hard-pressed to even name a five-star restaurant.
