Ignore this poll!

I mean really, why would anyone take an online poll seriously? I suppose it is possible that if Liberal Party leader Stephane Dion was nominated Quebec's top traitor, it would be a problem for the Liberal Party:

"We wanted to make our voice heard," said François Gendron, spokesperson for the Jeunes patriots du Quebec, a separatist group.

"It's not vengeful and, above all, it's humorous," Gendron said of the poll. "But the fact remains that these people are traitors."

But it's no laughing matter for Michel Rochette, the director of communications for the Quebec Liberal Party.

"I don't know if they know what the definition of the word 'traitor' is. It's worrisome to see them use it without thinking."

Right then.

Don't participate in this poll!

And by the way, "S'abonner à la liste de diffusion" means "To subscribe to the mailing list", in case you're interested.

Absolutely. Voting in this poll would be very, very, mean.

And the separatiste/nationaliste Myth spinning goes on....after we did every thing we could to piss off these francophonie national socialists and call their bluff to see they have no cards in hand...AND that most Quebecers now would rather lead a good life with out constant Marxist "struggle" politics destabilizing their security...there appears to be another generation of these nationaliste quislings keeping this dead old reeking canard alive....so we see Gumby Duceppe recruited to save the failing fortunes of radical nationaliste socialism in Quebec.

You really want to know who the biggest traitors to the Quebec "nation" were...try Levesque and Perizeau...the guys who forced Quebec to lay its cards on the table and reveal twice that radical separatism has lost its cause and support.

Meanwhile the ROC sighs, rolls its eyes and endures more intemperate quebecois foamy-mouthed nationalist ranting.

Gee - the Liberals complaining about people using language without thinking...
Mr Pot, please meet Mr Kettle.

I was checking out Cherniak's blog and noted that almost every reply was critical of Jason's opinions, unlike yours Steve. 99.9 % of your readers support your views. You da man!!!

Stick to what you know Steve. "Separatism" is the Liberal's best friend. Propping up "separatism" is half the job of the Liberal's media; a vibrant "separatism" and Liberal majorities go hand in hand. Suggesting that some fringe group of teenage separatists with a web site represent the dominant sentiment in Quebec indicates your utter ignorance of Quebec politics, or some Liberal baited you with that link, and you bit.

But if you want to practice your french, a more admirable site would be kuebek.blogspot.com

BTW, I have no affiliation with kuebek.

Steve, while usually I enjoy reading your blog, trying to promote Dion as a traitor to Quebec is really insulting and stupid. When Chretien called him up after the '95 referendum, he made cogent and intelligent responses to separatists, and likely can take some credit for their slow demise.

I don't think he's right as Lib party leader for other reasons (mostly his leaning towards the left, environmental record, and association with the JC regime), he deserves our thanks and respect for fighting separatism.

Real conservatives don't need "soldiers in our streets" to make a point.
