A small improvement to the blog that I hope will improve people's experience here, as well as encourage even more online discussion.
This is one the most delayed items on my to-do list. I know for ages people have been forced to enter comments without a preview function. I had disabled it some time ago when some sort of bug prevented the comment preview window from opening. In any case, I hate popups, as do most people. Now there is a live preview function. When you type your opinions, your insights, and your insults into the comment box, it is simultaneously rendered exactly as it will appear to everyone who reads it. This includes any HTML you enter, so feel free to use boldface and italicized fonts, links with anchor text, lists, anything you want. If it's legal, it'll render, and you'll know what it's going to look like. Once you're satisfied that you've crafted the near comment, hit "Post". And thanks for joining in!

Nicely done, Steve.
The "recent comments" and "recently commented posts" sidebar is a useful feature as well.

...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I find the Live Comment Preview above a bit distracting when typing. Have a Preview button maybe instead?
When I post in Firefox, it just sits at the Live Comment Preview till it posts, so the temptation is to hit "POST" again.

I've noted a tripling of page views since putting those lists in. Clearly people are using them to navigate, which is great, because that's what they're there for.

Thanks tomax. I'll see if I can do some changes to how it works.

...is it possible to colour the heading bars for each topic/title? The grey looks too depressing, maybe a light blue, or beige?

I like it!
