Hated by both the Nazis and the Commies

It seems normal to think that parties navigating the near-centre of the polical spectrum would be attacked from the left and from the right. But when you look at how the far-left and the far-right terms their attacks, you have to wonder if there is really a difference between the far-left and the far-right.

Maybe it's a good versus evil thing.

Consider how the far-left attacks Stephen Harper's position on Israel, as written up at the Marxist Socialist Voice:

The goal is to eliminate Hezbollah and Hamas, the leading popular resistance forces on Israel’s borders, and the challenge they pose to the Zionist state, Washington’s key ally in the Middle East. And the Harper government is marching lockstep with the Bush administration in this strategy.

Isn’t the purpose of the current Israeli offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine to "settle" this problem and prepare the ground for a U.S. attack on Iran? The question must be seriously asked. Who still believes that it is simply a "measured reaction" to the kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers?

Some have expressed surprise that the Harper government displays such little concern for the reaction of the Lebanese minority in Montreal. However, Lysiane Gagnon, a columnist with La Presse – and unofficial spokesperson for the Israeli lobby – wrote in the July 24 Globe and Mail that Stephen Harper was not afraid of losing the support of the 80,000 or so members of the Lebanese community in Montreal because "the end result, electorally speaking, will be that the Conservatives will make inroads into Montreal's 100,000-strong Jewish community, which, until now, has been one of the bedrocks of the Liberal Party." And we learned from the July 29 La Presse that the Conservative Party has already begun soliciting financial support from members of the Jewish community by citing its unfailing support of the State of Israel.

Destroy the popular resistance to the Zionists in order to gain financial and moral support from the Jews, while preparing to attack Iran?

Sounds a lot like the theory put forth by the neo-Nazis at Stormfront.org:

The Zionist State of Canada

Terrorism against the Palestinian people? Check.

The Zionist power bloc? Check.

The impending attack on Iran? Check.

I know the point of view seems different, and there are differences in the details, but both groups, responsible for the greatest genocides in human history whenever they managed to take the levers of power, seem to hate the same actors, and for much the same reasons.

And apparently that includes hating me, and if you're lucky, hating you too. Because seriously, being admired by either is not something to be proud of.

Some of the assertions of the commies and the nazis are correct. It does not mean that you support communism or fascism or that you wish to commit genocide if you accept these assertions, or if you question the wisdom of the current US and Canadian policies toward Israel and the middle east.

Probably however, you will be better off getting information about the middle east from other web sites than these ones. Try reading some Ron Paul for instance.

"Congress and each successive administration pledge their political, financial, and military support for Israel. Yet while we call ourselves a strong ally of the Israeli people, we send billions in foreign aid every year to some Muslim states that many Israelis regard as enemies. From the Israeli point of view, many of the same Islamic nations we fund with our tax dollars want to destroy the Jewish state. Many average Israelis and American Jews see America as hypocritically hedging its bets.

This illustrates perfectly the inherent problem with foreign aid: once we give money to one country, we have to give it to all the rest or risk making enemies. This is especially true in the Middle East and other strife-torn regions, where our financial support for one side is seen as an act of aggression by the other. Just as our money never makes Israel secure, it doesn’t buy us any true friends elsewhere in the region. On the contrary, millions of Muslims hate the United States."

1:26 posting--thanks for the Ron Paul site. A man that is light years ahead of both the US and Canada.
There has to be more self-interest in handing out this much money to other nations than meets the eye.
The wars currently happening are to 'bring democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan'--at least that is the spin for the masses. But forcing 'democracy' on anyone is in direct conflict with the meaning of the word.
I guess I am a Nazi and a Communist--I agree with much of what is posted here. It is no surprise that our politicians 'support' Israel with our money though--after all, 'there is money in them there hills'! What really bothers me is that our government(no matter which one) support a country that has blatantly killed one of our own. The US is no different--remember the USS Liberty? Why are we so afraid to put our country first?

If you think the far left (communists) and the far right(fascists) are the same you are right they both believe in complete government control. Although the Nazi's allowed the corporations to operate independently they controlled the means of production. That is to say they decided who got the materials to produce goods and they decided what would be produced. The left right chart is in fact flawed. A better chart would place complete government control on the left and freedom on the right. This would put the communists and fascists on the left and the anarchists who believe in no government on the left. Anarchists by the way do not fit on the current left right chart. How can you have a political spectrum chart that does not include everyone?

Israel is their excuse of the moment. But let's not confuse ourselves that the far-right & the far-left have any pity for the Palestinian cause, Hamas, Hezbollah or any other waterheaded group that draws sympathy from the fringes....that's a blanket canard veiling their true agenda.

One doesn't have to go very far back in time to see the myopic hatred of the jews by the extreme groups of the political spectrums loooong before the creation of Israel was even remotely feasible.

They're an easy target for for the dimwitted rabble that occupy these groups. If there was no jews on the planet, they'd find some other minority to blame for their shortcomings. ie. Ron Paul, who once he had thrown the jews into the cauldron, would start in on the African Americans. But this is the guy who above posters have stated is 'light years ahead'...when in reality he's above 90 years behind. A charlatan who changes his political tag depending on his opportunities.

George, maybe you're neither a communist or nazi, but you're obviously the type of schmoe that these people would like to recruit.

George Bush and his ilk are no more true Conservative than Stalin and his bunch were god fearing Ruskies. The neocons have sullied the conservative traditions and everything that freedom loving rational people have fought for over many centuries. Both the Russians and the Nazies had the Jews on their hit list, so there should not be any surprise over the two long term Jew haters being on the same side of the Israeli issue.

The truth is that the majority of people in and connected to the US and Canadian governments don't care much one way or another for either Israelis or Arabs. The foreign aid, peacekeeping, regime-changing and imperialist rackets are just so damn lucrative, and they beat getting real jobs by such a damn sight, that they've decided that what's really in their interest is stirring the pot. We're talking trillions of dollars in the case of American "aid" and warmongering, and billions of dollars in the case of Canadian "aid" and warmongering. Most of this money finds its way back into the pockets of those in and connected to the government in the form of contracts, lobbying gigs, bribes and kickbacks, political donations, and the like.

There is nothing left or right about it at all. It is governmental greed and false philanthropy on a gigantic scale.

Sorry Israelis and Arabs - you must live in perpetual fear of violent death so that government weasels in USA, Canada and Europe can live like kings. Our bad.

I am not Jewish, but I have to say that any tolerance of hate or violence toward them diminishes our society. If we do not oppose those who advocate hate we become them by default.

Excuse me, but Nazis aren't and never were "right wing". They were the National Socialist party. They were to the right of communism, but on any political spectrum that a Canadian or American would understand, still decidedly to the left of center. State control of industry, the collective taking precedent over individuals etc.

I beg to differ that NAZI's are on the right.

the name is national 'socialists' after all.

and they have a lot of the statist values of our socialists.

gun control, big govt, no religion but govt,

I think them on the right was one of the first cons by MSM's.

Gosh, gee whiz and golly, Angry, what is this about "commies". Last time I heard that one was in the 50s when right wing creeps (your intellectual forbears) where avoiding embarrassment by calling their opponents, Reds, fellow travellers, comsymps, or the dreaded "commies". It was a great way to avoid debate, a sort of atom bomb chess piece that killed any thought within 5 spaces. Trouble is the knuckle draggers who used it brought anti-communism into disrepute by their tendency to show up as small time bullies, liars and gossips to the last. And so many of them, after the unraveling of the great leader by Krushchev, turned out to be RCMP agents, petty ones who got a monthly stipend for going to meetings and writing down names. It was a standard joke by the late 60s that the Communist party in Canada had so few members that the RCMP informers outnumbered the real Reds.
Going to have a revival are we, Angry? Ah now, I do believe you will find that all kinds of Canadians can read, write, and count these days, hardly any of them tug the forelock anymore, and any reference to private information one has from "the authorities" will be be met by intentional breaking of wind. But you go ahead and try Angry, many could use a good laugh. Try wearing a paper bag on your head, that used to get quite a reaction.
