David Smith's attendance was an amendment to the PACP meeting notice

David Smith is appearing today in the televised meeting of the Public Accounts Committee investigation into the RCMP Pension Scandal. David Smith's former company, Abotech, has been implicated in the scandal. The firm once run by the former Liberal Party member of parliament for Pontiac is alleged to have been given directed contracts by Frank Brazeau, David Smith's cousin, who worked at Consulting and Audit Canada. The Auditor General has reported that these contracts bypassed the competition guidelines, and the work amounted to little more than passing cheques around, hardly worth the hundreds of thousands charge by Abotech.

What is interesting is that David Smith's appearance was amended to today's schedule.

The notice of the meeting indicates the David Smith was added to the meeting notice as an amendment. It probably doesn't mean anything, but it would be interesting to know just when David Smith was originally expected to testify, if at all, and what prompted this change. Really, just curious.

Did he actually show? Last week on CPAC's coverage of the committe meeting it appeared that no one knew where Smith was and how to get ahold of him. There were some pretty wild words being thrown around during discussion. John Williams was in fine form as were several others.

I watched the hearings and his name popped up several times once the truth started coming out about the link with the RCMP insider directing contracts to a Company he later got a Job with.

As the list of people started to grow there was a motion to have the steering committee list Groups of witnesses that matched the Questions for that day and was after a Corporate Auditor for Crimes can review the money trail and create a flow-chart for them to see exactly how cheques flowed through the system.
The RCMP was also asked to produce a timeline chart for who was in power during and after the whistle-blowers were moved around and the alleged conspirators were promoted or fired but also got Paid leave for STD and LTD.

The swamp is being drained and Ms.George showed up with a Lawyer to advise her what to say , but Ms. geoge was on CTV Q.P. Sunday and asserted we wanted to get to the bottom of this and have the truth come out.
Yah , right...that's why several accused are there with a Lawyer and seem to give a Legal answer that takes 3-4 minute and says absolutely nothing.
Ms.George first said a Officer was Fired, then he was removed and put elsewhere , next he left for Health reasons .
But she couldn't answer at what point he was at for each claim, if he was ill it is illegal to fire someone that, if he was fired for abusiveness there would be a report , and if fired how did he get STD coverage .
It can't be all 3 .
