A Jewish community centre in Toronto was the target of what appears to have been a hate crime. Jason Belfiglio has been arrested, charged with smashing the windows at the Chabad Midtown Jewish Community Centre.

Jason Belfiglio claims innocence, but he is being congratulated by neo-Nazis who seem to think he's being too modest.

Main Story

Katie Rook at the National Post covers the Chabad attack in detail:

Police have charged a 20-year-old Toronto man with mischief after three windows at a Jewish daycare centre were smashed, describing the investigation as that of a "hate crime.''

Jason Belfiglio was arrested near the Chabad Midtown Jewish Community Centre around 1:15 a.m. yesterday and later released on the condition that he remain at least 100 metres from Jewish establishments, abide by a curfew and appear in court on April 22.

At the time of his arrest, Mr. Belfiglio was wearing a T-shirt bearing a neo-Nazi insignia.

Belfiglio claims innocence...and Jewish friends:

Mr. Belfiglio, an unemployed high school dropout, yesterday denied any involvement in the incident. He told the National Post he was on his way to a party at a Jewish friend's house and stopped to look at police activity near 1344 Bathurst St. when he was arrested.

That Mr. Belfiglio happened to be wearing a T-shirt bearing an anti-Jewish symbol is unfortunate and something he "didn't really think about," he added.

Mr. Belfiglio responded to the allegations from the front porch of the two storey home where he lives with his father, whom he said is unaware of the charges.

He said being accused of a hate crime is "pretty upsetting," but that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and police have the wrong guy.

Mr. Belfiglio, who has a single strip of facial hair descending down his chin, said he does not consider himself a white-supremacist nor a neo-Nazi and is not part of a gang.

But here's the interesting thing. At Overthrow.com, the site for discerning neo-Nazis, we have this report on the same story. Check out the headline...sounds like the building was reduced to rubble:

White Activists Destroy Toronto Chabad Center

One white activist was arrested last night and others are reportedly being sought after the headquarters of Chabad, a Jewish racial-supremacist that has called for the execution of Christians, in Toronto, Canada had its windows smashed out with bricks.

Canadian authorities, who are largely dominated by Jewish racial interests, charged Jason Belfiglio with a hate crime in the attack. Two others are being sought.

Chabad has lobbied around the world for Christmas trees and public nativity displays to be taken out of public squares, and its radical Chasidic Lubavitcher ideology teaches that Christians are idolators whose Gods must be smashed so they can be enslaved to Jewish power.

Chabad-Lubavitch is also, not surprisingly, the ideology of many "right wing" Jews in the Bush administration, including former spokesman Ari Fleischer.

Canada is dominated by Jewish interests and its legislature has banned most criticism of Jews, forcing white activists into acts of revolutionary violence instead. In Canada, criticizing Jews has carried a prison sentence of up to three years and fines of up to $25,000. Because of this, smashing the windows out of a Jewish hate headquarters carries no greater legal penalty than, say, publishing a website critical of Jewish power.

OK, but what do you really think of Jews?

Seriously, why has Bill White named Belfiglio a "white activist"?

Is this just propaganda? Is Belfiglio being labeled a white activist by an opportunist who is trying to capitalize on this crime?

Or is Belfiglio known to the people who operate Overthrow.com? Do they know he is a white activist?

Like I said, interesting.
