Rumour has it that Wajid Khan, the Liberal member of parliament for Mississauga-Streetsville, might cross the floor to join the Conservative Party. Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed Khan as his special advisor for the Middle East, a act of bipartisanship that was rewarded with scorn from the Liberals.
Interesting, you would be hardpressed to discover that Khan was indeed a Liberal by looking at his website.
Wajid Khan's website has no mention of the Liberal Party on the home page.
Nor does it mention the name of the party for which he was running in his biography page, in which he details his electoral history.
On his photos page, there are pictures of Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin and other Liberal ministers that Khan shared a stage with, but again, no mention that these were Liberal Party politicians.
I could go on, but suffice it to say that I could only find one reference to the Liberal Party. It is on the links page. Deeply buried in a list of links. A link to the Liberal Party of Canada website appears 34th out of 36 links. The list itself is entitled "Government of Canada websites". The Liberal Party website is not a government website, but I wonder if someone made the conscious decision not to correctly put the Liberal Party website link on its own list, since that would highlight it.
We know that Wajid Khan has serious differences with the rest of the Liberal caucus, aside from working for peace in the Middle East. He has consistently ignored his party's position on same sex marriage (though it should be said that the Liberals did not whip their members on the vote on whether to re-open debate):
The 13 in favour Liberals[, that is, voting to re-open debate on same-sex marriage], in alphabetical order, were Raymond Bonin, Gerry Byrne, Roy Cullen, Jim Karygiannis, Wajid Khan, Derek Lee, Gurbax Malhi, John McKay, Dan McTeague, Francis Scarpaleggia, Paul Steckle, Alan Tonks and Tom Wappel.
I don't know if Wajid Khan is coming over to the Conservative Party. But I wonder if he has long since left the Liberal Party.

Looks like they have already corrected the Liberal party link to be labelled "Liberal Party of Canada".
Someone must be listening to you.
