Bob Rae and his real family

Is Liberal Party leadership candidate Bob Rae really a Liberal? Or is he still an Dipper at heart, but having tasted during his disastrous spell as premier of Ontario, has decided to use the Liberal Party to vaunt himself back into relevancy?

That's a question a lot of Liberals are struggling with, and since it is likely that no one will win the leadership on the first ballot, a lot of Liberal Party delegates are going to be asking themselves this question when faced with a decision of where to cast their second and third ballots.

If you are struggling with that question, maybe this video will help you come to an answer.

Bob Rae a hypocrite!! Who woulda thunk it.

All I would say is that the Liberal name seems to be so popular in Canada that anyone left or right of centre who lacks character seems to take advantage of it.

Ignatieff and Rae are perfect examples of people from both sides of the sprectrum who know they have a significantly easier chance of accomplishing their ideological goals under the Liberal flag.

Are either of them real Liberals? Up until recently, they certainly weren’t, but they’ve caught on quickly to the rhetoric required to survive under that red banner.

And after he overcomes all of the doubt in early December, he STILL has to convince Ontario residents that he can be trusted with the keys to the car errrr economy. Remember the last time he took it out for a spin?

CCRRRRRRRAAAASSSSHHHHHH!

Go Bob Go! We're all rooting for you! Well I am, and so are all my conservative buddies...

Just WHAT does Bob Rae stand for?

I can't help seeing Power Corps and Paul Desmarais pulling the strings, and actually think that Robert Rae's Run at the Liberal Leadership is about keeping power in the Power Corps Family, of whom Trudeau, Mulroney, Chretien, and Martin are also members.

Whatever Bob Rae's reason's for running for the Liberal Leadership, I smell a rat. After seeing his smug and arrogant interview with Jane Taber on Mike Fluffy Live last night it was clear that the guy's willing to compromise on every principle he might ever have held to get a chance at being the Big Kanadian Kahuna.

Bob Rae is being repaid for his supporting Trudeau by bringing down Joe Clark's minority government and then for his supporting David Peterson's two disastrous governments in Ontario.

Typical Liberal tactics of looking after their friends.

Hopefully, it will take Canadians many years less than the decades it has taken their southern neighbors to figure out the conservative movement's ideology is no good. After a few years of right-wing rule, Canada will be wishing it had learned the lessons of America, instead of suffering through the wage stagnation and obscene economic stratification of rapacious capitalist ideology.
And another thing, I would imagine sales of that ugly t-shirt have been pretty slow. That is one supremely tacky garment you've got there for sale.

Gee, Ryan, who writes your stuff? Supremely tacky thinking.

You mention "rapacious capitalist ideology." You must be talking about the Librano$. Check out what's going on with the Chinese.

Chretien, Mo Strong and co., not to mention all of the other Librano hangers on, have been doing business as usual with China for years, while ignoring their abysmal abuse of human rights. Oh sure, the Librano$ aren't adverse to SAYING something about China's violations of their citizens human rights, but when it comes down to actually DOING something about them...well, China's too important a trading partner to follow through with demands for improved human rights. Fawgeddaboudit

Now that Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government are telling the Chinese government that their human rights violations need to be looked at before Canada can agree to any trade agreements, "Conservative politics" is the bad guy in the scenario.

You've got it wrong, Ryan. It's the Librano$ who have the "rapacious capitalist ideology," sugar-coated by socialist platitudes they think will dupe the public. 'Problem is, they're right. While they make themselves rich, doing business with a country with one of the worst human rights records in the world, the Conservatives get blamed for ineptitude because they have actually challenged the Chinese government to clean up its act.

Down the rabbit hole again.

Oh, and BTW, Mo Strong, who is now living in China and is heavily invested in a new car being made there--which will probably make him a few more million$$$--is a close family friend of Bob Rae.

Did you know that, Ryan?

Bob Rae grew up calling Maurice Strong "Uncle Mo." Librano nepotism at its best and most rapacious.

Posted by: 'been around the block at November 15, 2006 11:23 PM

One more thing, Ryan: Check out Paul Desmarais Jr. and his company Power Corporation. Then check out his son, Andre, who is married to Jean Chretien's daughter, France.

They're all multi-millionaire$. Then check out Power Corp's connection with Mo Strong, Pierre Trudeau, and Paul Martin.

'You looking for "rapacious capitalist ideology"? Look no further. It's alive and well in the Liberal Party.

Go do your homework.

Great jibe at Layton. Heh.

'batb

Good catch on Mo "Fast Morrie" Strong. That guy never ceases to amaze me. Oil-for-Food; the Ontario Hydro debacle; the Power Corp. links; the cheesy Annan-appointed UN special rapporteur crap- he's just unbelievable.

Posted by: Earl at November 17, 2006 03:57 PM

Hey, Ryan, where are ya?

Sitting in the corner with your dunce's cap on?

Face the music, honey. Name the c/Conservative "rapacious[ly] capitalist" puppet master with more power than Paul Desmarais Jr. and Power Corp?

Don't you just love the name of the organization? In your face. Canada, we own you!!!!

Posted by: 'been around the block at November 17, 2006 06:46 PM

Of course Bob Rae is a real Liberal. Power Corp owns his ass! What other test is there?
