As regular readers know, I've been following the case of the murder of 20-year-old Yasmin Ashareh with interest. Her body was on July 14 in a duffel bag outside of a housing complex in west-end Toronto. Though there's been an arrest, there are so many strange connections in this case that I have to wonder if this case is more complex than it appears.
From an anonymous reader:
The noise and cleaning up at the townhouse occured on July 14 late at night (after the body was discovered in the garbage bag on Friday morning)
Cops were all around the complex except for that townhouse area -- coz the yellow tape was only at the scene of the garbage bag area. That night meaning early July 15 -- two men were arguing and there was a lot of furniture being moved around or cleaning going on and lots of loud noises of two men arguing. Before day break, many garbage bags were placed outside the town house complex.
Neighbour living next door to the townhouse complex related this to other residents in the area.
So garbage pickup is Friday morning, July 14. The police tape off the garbage pile and surround area, but not any of the townhouses. She's been in the garbage in the summer heat for days, so the police might not been able to identify her yet. That night, in the early hours of July 15, two men are heard arguing in the townhouse in which Yasmin Ashareh rented a room, as did the suspect in the case, William Imona-Russel. There are noises of cleaning, of furniture being moved, and then more garbage bags appear outside, even though there is no garbage pickup on Saturdays.
Here's a question: what is the spatial relationship between the townhouse in which Yasmin Ashareh lived and the place where her body was found?
In any case, if the story is accurate, who was arguing? Was it related to the murder? Was one of the men William Imona-Russel? Who was the other man?
Is this why William Imona-Russel was put under surveillance? Were police hoping Imona-Russel would lead them to this other man? It is that odd (and as of yet unexplained) surveillance operation that makes me take a rumour like this seriously.
