I'm going to list a number of well-known Canadians:

Peter Amrstrong: national CBC reporter
Tim Powers: Conservative Party strategist and vice-president at Summa Communications
Kady O'Malley: freelance reporter and mainstay at The Hill Times
General Rick Hillier: Chief of the Defence Staff
Tom Parry: parliamentary reporter for CBC Radio
David Akin: parliamentary reporter and blogger for the Globe and Mail
Lawrence Martin: one of Canada's leading political authors and columnist for the Globe and Mail

The question: What do they have in common?

For all I know, lots of things. Maybe they all love Canadian Idol.

But I know for certain one thing they have in common. Yours truly spent time with all of them, and many others as well, in a St Patrick's night that will not be forgotten anytime soon.
