Belinda Stronach: Not so picky

An eyewitness account:

We just saw Belinda at a Aurora Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. Our communications chair Rita Smith walked up to her and asked her what she thought about Hargrove endorsing the Bloc, which Belinda replied: “All I care about is that he endorsed me”

Is it just me, or is Belinda not a very discriminating woman? But then we all sort of knew that already.

The funny thing is, back in May, Stronach was very particular when it came to associating with someone she thought made common cause with the separatists:

Seated next to [Paul] Martin at a morning news conference in Ottawa, Stronach said she doesn't see Conservative Party Leader Stephen Harper as being "truly sensitive" to the needs and the complexities of Canada.

"Also, by forcing an election before the Conservative party has grown and established itself in Quebec, the hold over Quebec of the Bloc Quebecois can only grow into the vacuum. The result will be to stack the deck in favour of separatism, and the possibility of a Conservative government beholden to the separatists."

But now she doesn't mind being beholden to CAW boss Buzz Hargrove, who is encouraging Quebec voters to vote for the separatist Bloc Quebecois?

All I care about is that he endorsed me.

Makes you wonder what other endorsements she'd be willing to accept, as long as it helps her keep the only thing she cares about -- a big office and people around her who pretend she is anything but an intellectual lightweight.

I think she did the Conservatives a great favour when she crossed the floor to join the Liberals. Thus giving the Conservatives an extra six months to regroup and prepare.

I just wish that some reporter or TV wonk would ask Paul Martin the question after a rant about the Hidden Agenda

Mr. Martin - you felt the same way about Mr. Harper's Hidden Agenda during the 2004 campaign yet Belinda Stronach - who was privy to the Conserative agenda - crossed the floor to your party - did she or did she not give you all the details of the Hidden Agenda - if so, why do you pretend that you don't know what it is and if not - do you ask yourself why?

I think it would be great fun to see the Dithers uh, uh, well, uh fundementally uh its about values you see ......

She seems so deep and complex. I only wish I could vote in her riding.

strap that mattress to your back again belinda because bill might show up and you gotta know your days in the house are limited so playing horizontal monica has got to be better than facing the nasty world of politics when you don't get your way

Belinda may be a lightweight, however she has an ability to remain focused and goes for the jugular.

She did make it to the levers of power in short order, but if all employees in auto-parts manufacturing are not on full time / part time status with no benefits, she has not completed her mission.

Thankfully the Titanic she jumped to is now sinking thus saving employees in dozens of plants from losing regular benefits. TG

She didnt get anywhere near a lever of power...

She was a puppet.

PMPM was pulling all the strings, she's just his dupe.

Just another example of Belinda not being very discriminating... the other day there was an article in the Globe where it was noted that Tie Domi was helping to campaign for Belinda.

Yep, Tie Domi. That Neanderthal-looking towhead. Guess he's taken a few too many shots to the head. What do you think the combined brain power of Tie and Belinda would amount to? Yikes!

There, I said it. And I'm a Leaf fan!!

If Belinda runs for the liberal leadership, they better let her have it or she will cross to the NDP.:)

Perhaps the Buzzard is sharing his own recipe for Baked Bigger Economic Pie with her.

Caution Curtis. Belinda is not a single entity. TG

Belinda is a light weight who happens to LUST for power. She is a great one for hiding who what she really thinks, but I think she was always pissed that Harper cleaned her clock in the fight for the leadership. She thinks she is a superior being to those under her, and her narcissitic reply to Buzzies little endorsement says it all.

That said, anyone in her business is supposed to see Buzz as the enemy. Magna is non-union and her dad would like to keep most of the plants that way. You dont suppose Dad might ask "Belinda, who you climbing into bed with??"

"She did make it to the levers of power in short order..."

CBC > Riding Talk: Newmarket-Aurora

"...I started work at Magna the same year that Belinda did, and I have followed her "career" closely throughout. Anyone who thinks that she had any real power at Magna does not know what he/she's talking about. Mostly she did "special projects", which means that she did pretty well anything she wanted and got a paycheque for it. She certainly did not make a move without daddy's and the board's OK. To say that she came anywhere near to "running" the company is an out-and-out lie. Look at how the company stock value went up when she left. So she really has no qualifications, other than her high-level connections and her ability to smooze with the elite..."

There is a picture plastered in some Toronto subway stations of a TTC employee that looks like Stronach's body double. Who knows, if she is not picky about her friends, she won't be picky about her next job. Maybe she is already moonlighting as a TTC driver in anticipation of her impending defeat.
